The Best Gift EVER

At our house we try very hard to keep the real reason for Christmas in mind at all times. Even though we do the things that most people do—put up a tree, buy gifts, bake cookies, etc—we try never to lose sight of the reason we celebrate in the first place.

When I stop to think about the first and BEST Christmas present, I am always amazed by God’s love for us. People say, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” But the truth is, WE are the reason. We are the reason that God sent his Son to earth to live and die as a sacrifice for our sins. We are the reason Jesus willingly came and gave his life for us.

Jesus is the best gift EVER. He is the gift that keeps on giving. Nothing under the tree, in a box or a bag, will ever equal the gift of salvation we have through Jesus Christ. And that’s something worth remembering all year.
