Love God With All Your Strength

By Heather Spiva

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Deuteronomy 6:5

Have you ever been tempted to take something that wasn’t yours? It’s a difficult task to keep your hands to yourself and ignore the desire to take that item – even if it’s something you know no one will miss. But if you chose to do the right thing, guess what? You have loved God with all of your strength.

See, God knows that we will come across situations like this all the time. And He said that if we love Him, then we are going to keep on loving Him with our actions…even when it doesn’t seem like it matters.

When you praise God and sing songs to him, you love Him with your heart. When you speak to Him and listen for His quiet voice, you love Him with your soul. But if you obey His commands – like choosing not to steal – then you love Him with all your strength.

God asks us to love Him because he loves us. And when we obey Him, even when it’s hard to do, He fills our lives with blessings.
