Get an Attitude of Gratitude!

Goal:

“Every day I will praise YOU, O GOD.” (Psalm 145:2)

Example: Smile every morning/during the day/night, tell GOD what you thank HIM for, write a thank you note to parents, grandparents, neighbor, teacher, church/community worker, take a walk, and observe God’s creation or changes in nature. Let GOD know what you appreciate most! SHOUT it aloud. Be grateful! Get an attitude-gratitude!

What are your ideas for praising GOD EVERY day?

Grateful ♥️ Talking FINGERS  🙌🏾

“Lifting holy hands and praising the LORD.” (1 Timothy 2:8)

  1. Trace both hands on one sheet ✋🏽🤚🏽
  2. On each fingertip, apply a sticker or write the letters to spell out: GIVE THANKS (left: pinky-G; ring-I; middle-V; pointer-E; left thumb T, right thumb-H; pointer-A; middle-N; ring-K-pinky-S.)
  3. Younger students can share some of what they are thankful for by naming people or things beginning with each letter i.e. G-God, Gramps, G’Ma; I-ice skating, ice cream, etc. (fingers move and talk)! Others may write the names of people or things beginning with each letter and then write an acrostic.

🤸🏾‍♂️Fall, roll, flip, ride, hop, jump into GRATITUDE

  1. Ask parents, family, friends, neighbors, and church members if you, your siblings, and friends can rake their lawns!
  2. Choose your sections of the yard to work on and let the raking begin.
  3. Once each of you has a BIG pile, pause the raking and join together to bag the leaves.
  4. As you gather to bag that final pile, ask each person in the group to share what they appreciated most about this (e.g., enjoying: helping their elderly neighbors; the warm sunshine, being with each other, the surprise of unlimited, tasty snacks…now you guessed it (fall, roll, flip, hop, jump, dive into GRATITUDE and your pile of leaves).

Thanks for sharing your Fall-jumps, dances, flips, twirls! Now that you have taken a deep dive and are on a roll, We look forward to hearing your God, good ideas for helping others!
