Create Your Own Piggy Bank

Supplies:

1. Clear Plastic Bottle

2. Construction Paper

3. Pipe Cleaner

4. Scissors

5. Tape

6. Marker

First, take a clear plastic bottle and remove the label. (If you need to, wash it out with soap and water.)

Second, take a piece of construction paper and draw two ears. (Draw them a little taller than you want, so you can bend part of them back as tabs.) Cut the ears out and cut a wide strip of construction paper to wrap around the middle of your bottle, as well as four thinner strips to use for legs.

Third, ask an adult to help you cut a slot in the top of your bottle.

Fourth, wrap the wider strip around the middle of the bottle and tape it in place. Cut a matching slot in the paper to allow your money to go through the hole.

Fifth, take one of the thinner strips and wrap it tightly around your thumb and use tape to hold the circle together.

Sixth, tape these four circles on the bottom of your bottle to make the legs of the pig and the two ears on the top of the bottle.

Seventh, curl a small piece of pipe cleaner and tape it to the back of your piggy bank to make a tail. (You can wrap it around a pencil or your finger if you need some help.)

Finally, use markers to draw the eyes and nose.
