Pizza Balls

Pizza Balls

Everyone in my family loves pizza, and we found a recipe that makes pizza not only yummy but fun! There is some prep time involved, but the process is so simple even young kids can help out.

Pizza Balls – (Ingredient list)

3 cans buttermilk biscuits

1 pkg pepperoni slices (You will use about 60 pieces)

1 block of your favorite cheese (We use mozzarella)

1 beaten egg

Parmesan cheese

Garlic powder

1 jar pizza sauce

Ingredients1

First, cut the cheese into 30 small chunks. Next, the biscuits will need to be separated (a great job for young kids) and flattened with a rolling pin.

Once you have the biscuit rolled flat, place a piece of pepperoni, followed by a chunk of cheese, followed by another piece of pepperoni on top. Then gather up the edges of the biscuit and squeeze the seams closed. (Layering the meat and cheese is another great task for kids.)

The pepperoni can easily be swapped out for a milder meat if you are like me and have people in your family whose taste buds don’t like spicy stuff.

As you are creating your little pizza balls, you will line them in rows in a lightly greased 9×13 pan seam-side down. When you are finished, beat one egg and brush it over the tops of the balls. Then sprinkle with parmesan cheese and garlic powder and pop them in the oven for 18 minutes at 425 degrees.

While those are baking, heat up the pizza sauce and pour it into little bowls for dipping.

Pull your pizza balls out of the oven and enjoy a super-yummy and fun to eat family dinner.
