God-given Dream, Vision, and Goal(S)!

God-given Dream, Vision, and Goal(S)!

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions”. Joel 2:28

“I have a dream” are perhaps the most quoted and memorable words of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. God wants those words to be yours and mine as well.

Do you have an idea, desire, or concern that keeps getting your attention? Is there something you can begin to do that improves the lives of others? An issue, challenge, or project that’s ‘pulling’ on your heart’?

Pray about this and start seeking God’s wisdom, direction, and guidance! Ask GOD to help you discuss this with your parents, guardians, and family. Write your ideas as these thoughts continue to fill your heart and mind! You have no doubt seen or read about many children and youth who are classical music geniuses; have begun lemonade stands to support cures for cancer; rallied family and friends for neighborhood collections of clothing, food, funds, resources, and cleanups; written books, poems, and songs; created clothing/accessories/witty inventions; inspire others with various presentations; and the lists go on…on…and on!

Joseph had an amazing dream! His older brothers didn’t like his dream not one bit! They were already angry with and jealous of him. They viewed him as a 17-year-young, spoiled brat. Even his father Jacob could NOT ‘get with’ the dream; though Joseph was his ‘favorite’ (another story for later).

Read Genesis 37:1-10

Any thoughts about Joseph and his dream?______________________________________________________

Perhaps your dream has one or several of these components:
love
service
conscience
justice
kindness
hunger
litter
freedom
perseverance
creativity
health
hope

Keep your dream alive, and continue seeking The Creator and other wise counselors because the Bible reminds us in Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

Pray: Lord, You are forever creative, wise, watching over us and the world! You are faithful, compassionate, caring, and concerned about Your creation! Father, thank You for showing us how to join You and help others. It is on my mind and in my heart to:__________________________. Lead me and guide me so that I might seek then follow Your plan in starting to:______________________________________________. May others know You as I _________________________________. Thank You, GOD. Amen
