Create In Me a Clean Heart, Lord

Create In Me a Clean Heart, Lord

“Create in me a clean heart, O God…” Psalm 51:10

February begins the season of Lent, a time during which we focus on allowing God to help us prepare our hearts and identify with our LORD’s journey to the cross!

This process helps us love Him more, understand and appreciate more fully our Easter rejoicing-the resurrection of Jesus.

Some of you may have received ashes on your forehead. This age-old practice represents an outward symbol of an inward process. We are humbling ourselves in confessing our sins, praying, studying, becoming closer to our Lord Jesus.

Here’s an activity you and your family, church, friends, others can use to represent another symbol of cleansing our ♥️

✝️ Draw a heart on a sheet of paper 8×10 or larger.

✝️ Cut out the heart shape.

✝️ Laminate the page or place it under a clear piece of plastic. You may also place it in a large freezer ziploc bag.

✝️ Once the paper is fully covered, use multi colored, washable or dry erase markers to write words that describe what has been in your heart today (kindness; joy; anger; pride; jealousy; generosity; sadness; hurt; loneliness, etc.)

✝️ Circle the ones you need Jesus to help you get rid of now. Pray and confess the ones who are crowding out The Lord’s place in your heart. Ask Him to help you clear that space for Him. Use a wet wipe; damp paper towel and swipe away each one as you thank GOD!

Write ✍🏾 your prayer of thanksgiving:

Prayer:

O Lord, my LORD, how excellent, holy, perfect, faithful and powerful You are! Thank You! You are loving, forgiving, ________________, ________,

__________________________.🙌🏾 I praise You for showing me my ♥️YOU know all about what’s there! Thank YOU for helping me ________________
______________________________________. Amen
