CINNAMON CHALLENGE

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:12 (KJV)
Cinnamon ( /ˈsɪnəmən/ SIN-ə-mən) is a spice. It comes from the inner bark of trees from the genus Cinnamomum. There are several species of these trees.
Cinnamon is a spice used in many foods and can be found in most kitchen cabinets in America. You may taste cinnamon in your cake, milkshake, or rice pudding. Some moms like to put it in oatmeal. It can also be used for its scent, such as in candles and other household decorations. It has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Bark from the plant is used mostly as a spice. This bark is one of the few spices that can be eaten straight up, without being processed. When we cook, we use it as flavoring. We can buy cinnamon and sugar mixed in a spice bottle at the store. This is great for adding a sweet flavor to things like apples or toast. It is also used in making chocolate, especially in Mexico, which is the main country we get cinnamon from.
Mix cinnamon with sugar, and apples come alive in a pie.
Add sugar and cinnamon to buttered toast, and create Cinnamon Toast.
And don’t forget – Cinnamon Buns are great for travel.
