What Difference Does ‘IT’ Make, Anyway?

What Difference Does ‘IT’ Make, Anyway?

Let’s ask GOD and thank Him for His help in doing good as we look toward the Cross.

“Do I have to do it again?” “I am tired!” “Why ME?” “No more practice today!” We feel tired for reasons. If you feel this or know someone who does, think about these words:

Let us not be tired in doing good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Have you ever planted seeds? Veggies, flowers, trees, or melons? You hoped they would grow so you could pick them. Each seed needs time to grow. The package might have said:

  • Plant 3 to 4 seeds at least 6 inches deep in the ground or in a pot.
  • Place in an area away from the sun.
  • Water every day.

Seeds will sprout in 4 to 6 weeks. Shoots will appear. Soon, you can pick, eat, or show your harvest if you keep watering as instructed.

Do not dig up the seeds if you see no growth after 2 days. Do not place pots where the sun shines for 4 hours. No, no, no!

When we live by GOD’s way, we sometimes get tired of turning the other cheek, being kind when people ignore us, and helping when we see no thanks. We do good things without expecting a reward, but we want others to treat us well.

As followers of JESUS, we learned to do what pleases GOD and let Him handle the results. When we trusted JESUS as Savior and LORD, He took charge of our lives. When we wanted to give up doing good, GOD reminded us to keep doing good for others as He did for us.

Even when we forgot to say Thank You, JESUS knew about doing good and suffering for it. He kept doing good because it was GOD’s plan. He also knew that a harvest of people would come to GOD.

  • I planted the seed (good thing #1).
  • Someone else watered it (good thing #2).
  • GOD made a harvest of people (good thing #3)!

I planted the seed, and Apollos watered it, but GOD made it grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6

Let us ask GOD for His help in doing good.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for always loving and serving! You were always willing to help, heal, and teach! It helps me know that You are aware of all my tiredness and wanting to throw in the towel! Give me Your strength to keep following Your example. Holy Spirit, You are my Help. I need a new way of thinking so I can want to do good and keep doing good. Someone will come to know, believe, and follow You! A good harvest at just the time is Your perfectly planned promise! Thank You! In Jesus name.
