The Tower of Babel—A Poem

The Tower of Babel—A Poem
There was a king named Nimrod.
He wanted to reach God.
As a show of his power.
He ordered his people to build a tower.
They built it wide. They built it high.
From the ground into the sky.
God was displeased at what was done.
He made them all speak different tongues.
The builders became an unruly rabble.
They stopped work on the Tower of Babel.
The groups went their separate ways.
That was the end of their building days.
In Babylonia, and hence.
They’ve been babbling ever since.
