The Photo Book

…be ready to do whatever is good

Titus 3:1

Recently, I attended a wedding and the reception following the ceremony. The bride and groom rented a photo booth for their guests. A photo booth is a wooden structure about five feet tall, with two sides and a curtain in the middle. If you step behind the curtain you will see a camera on one side. Sometimes, below the camera there will be a shelf full of things like funny hats and super large sunglasses you can wear while you are having your photo made. The camera usually takes four photographs, and you have about five seconds between each picture to get ready with a new pose.

When you come out of the photo booth you are given copies of the photos. At the wedding I attended, the photo booth printed two copies of the photographs; one for the guest and one for the bride and groom to put in an album for them to remember their family and friends celebrating their wedding.

As we see people each day, it is like the photo booth. We see someone, stop and talk to them for a while, and then walk away. We carry a snapshot in our minds of what happened when we saw that person. We each take a remembrance with us. When people at school, church, the grocery store, cheerleading camp, soccer practice, or home step into the photo booth with you, what do they take with them? Do they take away a snapshot of someone nice or mean, someone willing to be helpful or not? If you are at soccer practice and it is time for a water break at the water fountain, do you push your way to the front of the line or wait your turn?

God wants us to be kind to other people. When you see someone, you can give them something to take with them—a good memory of you!
