The Little Black Kitten

One afternoon, while walking home from school, I saw a small black kitten sitting beside our gate. She had no home, no food, and no one to care for her. “Oh, poor little kitten,” I whispered.

Gently, I carried the little cat into our house. I gave her warm milk, food, and a soft blanket. Soon, she was safe and happily purring in my arms.

I found that Mingming loved to jump on chairs, chase moving shadows, and curl beside me during rainy afternoons. He reminded me of the friendly cats in my favorite picture books — always curious, always fun.

At that moment, I remembered something beautiful from the Bible: “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.”

God made every animal with love and care. White cats, orange cats, gray cats, and black cats. They are all special. Mingming taught me that every creature deserves kindness, love, and protection.

Can you think of an animal that needs your kindness today?

Maybe it’s a pet at home, a stray outside, or even a bird in your yard.

Ask God to show you one small way you can care for His creatures this week.
