The Road to Jerusalem: Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday, we celebrate the day Jesus was in a parade. He road a young donkey and people lined the streets shouting, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” The streets were dirty and hot, so everyone waved palm leaves and put their coats on the ground for the donkey to walk on. Everyone was so happy that Jesus had come to Jerusalem.

The Flowers Appear

What is your favorite flower? Lots of people like roses. They are beautiful and smell so sweet. Other people like sunflowers and daisies because they look so cheerful. As I sit here writing this, I’m looking at a flower my son gave me and listening to a dove cooing in our bird feeder. That’s the “voice of the turtledove” that this verse from the Song of Solomon mentions.
