Staying Connected

Staying Connected

“Those who know your name will trust in you,  for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” (Psalm 9:10)

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I visited my parents. They live out in the country where there is no cable, no internet, and the cell phone reception is kind of spotty. For four days I couldn’t check my e-mail or work on the internet. I lost touch with all my Facebook friends and wasn’t able to answer my e-mail. I was disconnected.

I began thinking about how not seeing or talking to friends regularly can cause them to become disconnected. Disconnection often causes friendships to fall apart.

As I thought about my friendship with God, it made me think how important it is to stay connected to Him through regular prayer and reading His word.  Making the effort to talk with Him and know Him more builds a relationship with Him and develops a friendship.

By seeking Him—we get connected to Him.

Kids, as you prepare for Thanksgiving, begin listing ways we you can remain connected to God.
