Rocky in the Ark

Rocky in the Ark

Mrs. Noah’s Diary

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. Genesis 8:1 (NIV)

Dear Diary,

Today it seems as everyone is a little short on patience. It has been a long time since the rain stopped. Yet, the water is still there.

The trouble started with the girls fighting over what meals to make today. I told them that since we eat three meals a day they can each fix one meal. We planned which one was fixing each meal. They are now working as a team. I will gladly do the dishes.

Next, the stairs became a scene of a major fight among the boys. Japeth carried a large load of straw down the stairs and couldn’t see in front of him. Shem came up the stairs, not paying attention, and crashed into the Japeth. They both tumbled down the stairs and into the cart of animal leftovers that Ham was pushing, if you know what I mean. It covered all three of them. That’s when the yelling and pushing began.

I’m glad Noah was there to deal with them because each one blamed the other. He told them the blame game doesn’t help the situation, and they must work as a team to clean the mess.

Everyone was frazzled. Then, out of nowhere, a wind arose, gently rocking the boat. It calmed everyone—even the animals.

We need to have patience with each other. Who knows how long we are going to be on this boat?
