Revelation 22:1-7—Heaven Prepared Just for You and Me!

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign forever and ever.  Revelation 22:1-7

Recall a time when you were invited, or that you invited someone to a celebration! Describe the setting. Was the atmosphere unimaginable? Comfortable, welcoming, calming, exciting, loud, and relaxing? Most likely, extra effort went into planning for this special occasion, especially the location! The desire was for EVERYthing to be just right for all who would come.

Now, read the verses above. Describe this extravagant setting.

Nothing we have ever seen, imagined, read about, or posted comes close to what GOD has planned for His followers. More than the Angel escort; glistening, flowing, clear water; lush, fruit-filled trees; healing of nations. We will finally see the Face of our GOD. Yes, The ONE we have read about, prayed to, believed in, loved, and worshipped is Face-to-face!

Though all around us is beautiful, refreshing, and vibrant, we are sure to be overwhelmed by finally being in the presence of our loving, powerful, knowing Father GOD! What an anticipated, grand, joyous, indescribable event!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank YOU for the amazing provisions You have made for us to know You, and receive You into our hearts as Boss of these lives You have given! Forever grateful for Your promise that we will see YOU spend eternity with you when we do so! Forgive us for the many times we are so focused on the here and now that we ignore the greater truth of being with YOU eternally. We love YOU, Father! Until we are enjoying our future with YOU, help us to encourage all the people we know and meet to come along. Amen!
