Rainy Days

Rainy Days

“… for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone.” Song of Solomon 2:11

Do you like rainy days? Many children do not because they have to stay inside. Perhaps you’d rather go outside and play in your yard. What do you do on rainy days? Do you play games, watch television, play on your computer?

But rain makes things grow. It makes things clean. It makes the air smell fresh. Did you know there are many places on the Earth that don’t get enough rain? Imagine living where there are no trees or grass. Places that are in a drought (meaning they don’t get enough rain to make things grow) are usually dry, dusty and brown.

So the next time it rains, remember to thank the Lord for sending it. Go outside after it stops and take a deep breath. Look around at all the colors you see after the rain and listen to the birds singing. They are thanking God for the rain, too!
