Happy Fourth of July

On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress voted to approve the Declaration of Independence, announcing the thirteen colonies’ separation from Great Britain. The next year, Philadelphians celebrated the first anniversary of American independence with a party. Fun Fact: Did you know that Congress finally passed a law making Independence Day a federal holiday on June 28, 1870?*
