God’s Brave Heart

Have you heard of God’s brave heart?

Lima flipped the last page of his scary storybook and whispered, “That was creepy…”

That night, the room grew quiet. The wind tapped lightly on the window. Liam sat up suddenly. “Did something move in the corner?” he gasped.

“Liam!” his mom called as she opened the door. “What’s wrong?”

“I saw something, Mom! I think it’s in my room!”

His dad switched on the light in a snap. The room lit up—nothing was there.

His mom sat beside him. “Maybe your imagination is playing tricks after those scary stories.”

Liam frowned. “So… I imagined it?”

His dad nodded gently. “Sometimes fear feels real, but it isn’t always real.”

Then his mom opened the Bible and said softly, “Listen to this, Liam: ‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.'”

Liam repeated it slowly, “Power… love… and a sound mind.”

His shoulders relaxed. “So, I don’t have to be scared?”

“No,” his dad smiled. “God helps your heart stay strong and brave.”

The next morning, Liam pushed his scary book aside. “I’ll read happy stories now!” he said cheerfully.

Have you ever felt scared at night? Next time fear creeps in, try saying these words slowly: “God has not given me a spirit of fear — He gives me power, love, and a strong mind.” Ask Him to help your heart stay brave!
