Counting Stars

“He counts the stars and names each one. Our Lord is great and very powerful. There is no limit to what He knows.” Psalm 147:4-5 ICB
Have you ever gone outside in the evening, looked up at the dark sky, and noticed the white stars twinkling above you like tiny diamonds? If you tried to count all of them, you’d be there all night. If you tried to name them, you’d run out of names!
There are many more stars in the sky than we can see at night, and we cannot know exactly how many there are. The people who study the stars guess there are around two trillion in the universe. That’s a lot!
It would be impossible for us to count the stars and give them all a name, but God knows exactly how many there are, and He knows all their names. God knows your name, too, and He knows everything about you. He knows when you go to bed, what you eat for breakfast, and who your friends are. He knows everything there is to know about you because He created you.
Understanding that God knows everything about us helps us trust Him with everything in our lives. God knows what’s best for us, what we need, and when we need it. And He knows how to show us a beautiful nighttime sky filled with stars!
