Big Views, Bigger God: A Grand Canyon Family Adventure

Big Views, Bigger God: A Grand Canyon Family Adventure

Have you ever seen something so big and beautiful that it took your breath away?  That’s how you feel standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon.  The Grand Canyon is one of the most amazing places in the whole U.S.A.

This giant canyon stretches 277 miles long, 18 miles wide, and dives over a mile deep! As a result of Noah’s time and God sending the Flood, waters covered the earth, forming the Colorado River—flowing through the bottom of the canyon, carving deep paths over time.

The colorful layers of rock-red, orange, pink, and purple– look like a giant painted staircase, telling stories of how God shaped the earth with His powerful hands.

More than 500 kinds of animals live in and around the canyon, including bighorn sheep, bald eagles, elk, lizards, canyon tree frogs, and even mountain lions have been spotted!

There’s a trail for every explorer—on foot or even horseback!
Try Bright Angel for easy hikes and great views, Rim Trail for flat walks along the edge,
and South Kaibab for epic sunrises (don’t forget water!).  Sunrises and sunsets are a MUST! Hopi Point on the South Rim is one of the most popular for catching the sun!

And to make it fun for kids, you can visit a ranger station to get a Junior Ranger booklet. Complete fun activities, learn about animals, and earn a badge, all while exploring the canyon.

God made it all!

Looking at the Grand Canyon makes you want to say “WOW!”  Psalm 95:4 says, “In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him.” The Grand Canyon is more than a cool place—it’s a reminder of how big, creative, and powerful our God is. He carved this masterpiece using wind, water, and time—just like an artist working patiently on a painting.
