Autumn’s cats are on the prowl
chasing squirrel and feathered fowl
while leaves of color turn and fade,
and cascade down on earth’s parade.
As horns of plenty-fall’s bouquet
draped with goldenrod and hay
bids adieu to summer days
and blesses autumn’s harvest phase.
