A Cryptogram for You

A Cryptogram for You

Last week was National Clean Hands Week! Yes, there’s a special week to make sure that you wash your hands correctly. The sentences in the double puzzle were:

  1. Wet your hands.
  2. Rub your hands.
  3. Sing Happy Birthday twice. (That’s how long you should wash your hands to make sure they’re clean.)
  4. Rinse your hands.
  5. Dry your hands.

This week we’re celebrating something else and we’re using a special puzzle called a cryptogram, to do it. (Click on the image below to print it out if you think it will help you solve it.) A cryptogram is a letter substitution puzzle. Each letter in the phrase has been replaced by another letter of the alphabet. To solve it, figure out one of the words, then fill in the alphabet chart.

If you look at the chart now, you can see that every time you see the letter “M” in the puzzle, it stands for the letter, “I.” Every “Z” in the puzzle stands for the letter, “A.” And every “X” in the puzzle stands for the letter, “E.”
