Supermoon

Supermoon

Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Psalms 148:3 Hey Kids: November is a great month for sky watching. The supermoon this weekend is just a beginning. November is always a great month to view star showers. So grab your binoculars, star maps and a warm jacket and head outside for the show. How can the things you see in the night skies help you be a better reflection of Jesus? Start putting those ideas into practice by leaving us a comment in the section below. The Rock

The Rock

and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18b Hey Kids: What do you like to do with a rock? Do you stick it in your pocket?       It may become your memory rock. Do you skip it across the water?       How many circles does it make and how far does it reach? Have you made a standing pile of rocks?       It may help you find your way or help you remember this specific spot when you return. Does it look like an animal?       Paint it up and use it for a paperweight or a gift. Whenever you find a rock, whatever you do with a rock,  make it special. Make it a memory of the Rock of your Salvation. Use it to share Jesus with others.       Tell the memory of your salvation.      ...

Almost Heaven

Almost Heaven

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. II Peter 3:13 Hey Kids: Have you ever wondered what heaven is like? Do you have a favorite place that makes you think of heaven? It might be your treehouse or just a favorite tree limb where you sit and read. Maybe it’s a creek you play in or a beach where you run through the waves. This week might be a good time to draw a picture of your idea of heaven. Perhaps you know someone who has recently gone to be with Jesus. You might want to add them to the picture to remind you of how happy they are to be in a place so beautiful, free from tears and pain. Is there a group at church you can join that reaches out to win souls and disciple them? Maybe there are kids in your neighborhood or school that can benefit from your friendship. Even a child is known by his doings…Proverbs 20:11 May we all be doers of God’s word Gail Cartee...

In a Garden

Hey Kids: God gave us five senses to learn about His Creation. He gave us touch, taste, smelling, hearing, and seeing. Have you ever thought about how God shows us His love through our five senses? Do you love to cuddle with your pet? Isn’t the taste of a fresh peach dripping down your elbows delicious? Do you enjoy the sweet smell of flowers in the yard? Have you ever listened to newly hatched birds calling to their parents for food? Are you fascinated by the flitter and flutter of a butterfly among the bright flowers? What a kind and loving God to give us these five senses to experience His creation! Why not make a list of things you enjoy through your five senses. Then thank God for His wonderful works. Why Don’t You Dance

Why Don’t You Dance

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. Psalms 149:3 Hey Kids: How do you feel when you hear praises being sung to Jesus? Does it lift your spirit, your heart? Do you want others around you to join you in that worship? Jesus loves to see you praise Him in the dance and with song. Who can you invite to praise with you this week? Maybe first you can pray for someone who does not yet know Jesus, that they might see and hear your praises. You might ask that person to join in praise with you. Another verse says, and a little child shall lead them. Isaiah 11:6 You may be the person who leads this lost loved one to Jesus. Gail Cartee is a writer and teacher of hands-on family devotions. She and her husband...
