Finally, the Rain Stopped

Finally, the Rain Stopped

Mrs. Noah’s Diary

The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days. Genesis 7:24 (NIV)

by Bonnie Beardsley

Dear Diary,

The rain had stopped the day after my last post, but it is taking a very long time for the water to go down. It is almost five months since the rain started, and there’s no land in sight. Noah measured the water again and it has gone down some.

All this humidity has my hair frizzy. The girls and I are wearing scarves to cover our hair.

I have a couple of funny stories. We learned to be quiet when you walk past the parrots. Ham’s wife said something about being in a floating zoo. Next thing we heard were the parrots saying repeatedly, “floating zoo squawk.”

The other story is that a cat got out of its cage and the dogs started barking and howling at it. Shem caught it and secured the cage.

We just hit something. I can’t see anything but water. Whatever we hit has stopped us from moving. I will be thankful to stay in one place for a while.
